Rashford will miss the clash at Anfield
Marcus Rashford will miss Manchester United’s trip to Liverpool on Sunday due to illness.
Rashford has not featured in United’s last five games, although he was an unused substitute for Monday night’s home defeat by Newcastle.
“He’s sick right now,” boss Ruben Amorim said during lunch. “He doesn’t train. It will be out this week.”
The England international recently spoke of his desire to leave Old Trafford for a new challenge, and United are reportedly willing to sell if they can find a buyer.
However, this could be a problem with Rashford keen to stay in Europe’s big leagues, while his wages mean he is out of reach for most clubs.
There have been reports that the 27-year-old has turned down three lucrative offers from clubs in Saudi Arabia and is also thought to be uninterested in a move to Turkey.
The Sun claimed this morning that United are exploring a deal that would see Rashford join Napoli in exchange for Victor Osimhen, but a deal of that size seems unlikely in this window, especially as the Nigerian forward is currently on loan at Galatasaray.

Amad and Maguire decided to stay
There was better news for United fans regarding winger Amado Diallo.
The 22-year-old has finally established himself as a first-team regular this season after a very productive loan spell at Sunderland.
His current contract expires in the summer, but Amorim confirmed an extension is “closer” while also saying the club will exercise an option to extend Harry Maguire’s stay at United by a further 12 months.
“We are happy to continue with Harry,” Amorim said.
“We will run our option. He has to improve as a leader because we are starving for leaders on the field.”
