Lewis Hamilton overthrew his Ferrari during the pre -season team testing in Spain.
The sevenfold champion was not injured after losing control of the team car in 2023 on Wednesday in Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Ferrari refused to comment on the incident, which took place on Hamilton’s second day of running on the Spanish track, where he shares a car with a teammate Charles Leclerc.
The incident happened as Ferrari tries to incorporate Hamilton on the team as effectively as possible before the start of the season at the Australian Grand Prix on 14-16. March.
Ferrari considers a decline in nothing abnormal because Hamilton learns the characteristics of an unknown car after 12 years with a Mercedes, within the significant limitations imposed on testing in F1.
Ferrari runs a limited program in car 2023, the latest Hamilton model is allowed to drive.
F1 test limits dictate that current racing drivers can complete a maximum of 1000 km (621 miles) from what is known as TPC (testing of previous cars).
On January 2nd, Hamilton finished 30 rounds on the Fiorano test track, before he and Leclerc moved to this week’s three days of running in Barcelona, the House of Spanish Grand Prix.
Ferrari does not give any details about the test, where Hamilton teaches Ferrari’s procedures and methods of work and build understanding with Riccardo Adami runner engineer and the rest of the engineering group.
Ferrari will launch their car in 2025 on February 19th in Firan, the day after starting the F1 season at O2 in London.
Ferrari will give Hamilton further mileage testing before launching a tire test at Pirelli.
The team will last two days next week, also in Barcelona, 4-5. February 2025. Modified to reflect the effect of new regulations introduced in 2026.
This week, McLaren spends a similar Pirelli test at Paul Ricardo, France, as the Italian company seeks to define its product in 2026.
