Inflation in Israel decreased in December by 3.2% in 2024. Reuters
JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Inflation in Israel eased more than expected in December to the end of 2024 to a rate of 3.2% from 3.0% in 2023, according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday that could prompt policymakers to soon they start reducing interest rates.
The annual inflation rate fell to its lowest level since July in December, from 3.4% in November.
December’s rate was below expectations of 3.4% in a Reuters poll, but still exceeded the government’s annual target range of 1%-3%.
