Georgia’s inactive player drew a penalty for a bizarre move in the Sugar Bowl game against Notre Dame
AND Georgia Bulldogs football player who was inactive for the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame on Thursday night drew a bizarre penalty.
Parker Jones was on the sideline during the game and cost his team crucial yards in the second quarter.
Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton connected with Arian Smith for a 66-yard touchdown pass. As Smith ran down the field, the official ran with him. The referee, however, ran into Jones on the sideline. Georgia was penalized for sideline interference, costing the Bulldogs 10 yards.

Two runs and an incomplete pass later, the Bulldogs had to settle for a field goal. Bulldogs kicker Peyton Woodring converted a 41-yard field goal.
The penalty caused reactions on social networks.

Notre Dame scored twice in the closing seconds of the first half to take a 13-3 halftime lead.
Jones, a cornerback, is a redshirt sophomore from Albany, Georgia. He has yet to play a snap for the Bulldogs in his career.
The College football playoffs the quarterfinals were played the day after the terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans. More than a dozen people were killed when the suspect, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, drove through the crowd. Several others were injured in the attack.
