The European Central Bank announced a reduced interest rate of 25 points on Thursday, as expected, in the fifth decrease since the central bank began to alleviate monetary policy in June last year.
The reduction brings an ECB deposit plant, its key rate, at 2.75%. The markets were prices in more than a 90% chance of reducing 25 points before the announcement.
