Eagles’ AJ Brown reads a book on the sideline during the team’s playoff win
Wide receiver of the Philadelphia Eagles AJ Brown raised eyebrows Sunday night during the team’s playoff win against the Green Bay Packers for what he did on the bench.
In the fourth quarter, Brown was sitting on the bench between his teammates when the FOX broadcast caught him taking out a book to read.

“I didn’t see too many people reading books, but I saw the quarterback eating a hot dog,” Tom Brady he noted, referring to former New York Jets running back Mark Sanchez’s viral moment during his playing days.
Coincidentally, the show caught the title of the book: “Inner Excellence: Train Your Mind for Outstanding Performance and the Best Life Possible.” The book was written by Jim Murphy.

Brown said after the game that he brings a book to the sidelines every week.
“It gives me a sense of peace,” he said, via NFL Network. “That’s the playbook I bring every game. My teammates call it the recipe. … There’s a lot of points in there. A lot of mental game.”
Golf great Stewart Cink and PGA Tour coach Matt Killen have been quoted in support of Murphy’s book, according to the Amazon page.
“My #1 tip for success: Read Jim Murphy’s ‘Inner Excellence,'” Cink was quoted as saying.
“I read the first draft of ‘Inner Excellence’ six times. I recommend all my clients read it,” Killen is quoted as saying.
