Chelsea want Man Utd’s Alejandro Garnach and the Bundesliga duo

Chelsea are showing interest in Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnach, Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens and Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel, according to reports.

20-year-old Garnach’s future at Old Trafford has become increasingly uncertain after it was revealed that no player at United was considered untouchable ahead of the rebuilding of the squad under Ruben Amorim.

Napoli showed the greatest interest in Garnach, looking for the Argentine to replace the departed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but saw initial approach rejected by United. The Red Devils aren’t actively looking for it sell Garnacho, and certainly not for the £40 million figure that has been suggested.

The Telegraph report that United are willing to hold their ground in negotiations for Garnach, who played the full 90 minutes in Thursday’s 3-1 comeback win over Southampton, and will not agree to a cut-price deal with any interested parties, nor will they consider deals involving a trade players they don’t really want.

Chelsea are thought to not only be following Garnach, but Borussia Dortmund winger Gittens, who is enjoying a fine individual season despite the struggles of the Bundesliga giants, and Bayern Munich’s talented striker Tel, who faces strong competition for a starting role in Bavaria.

Gittens, 20, scored 11 goals in all competitions for Dortmund, including seven in the Bundesliga, and is another player to leave Manchester Cityas a 15-year-old, he started an academy to continue his football education in Germany. Tel has yet to score for Bayern this season, but has scored 10 goals in 2023/24.

Gittens’ Dortmund team-mate Karim Adeyemi is another player of interest Chelseaalthough he is considered a late-term loan option if other moves fail to materialise.

Concerns over Garnach’s temperament could deter Chelsea and Napoli from committing to a high-value transfer – the wily inside forward was previously dropped from United’s squad for the Manchester derby amid concerns about his performance in training – and it is not yet known how he would feel about leaving Old Trafford.

Garnacho has been accused of leaking on social media Unitedteam sheet before games, which seems to have affected his relationship with the club’s fans. Despite these off-field issues, he remains a key figure in United’s squad and his absence for the visit of Manchester City remains the only Premier League game he missed this season.
