Celtic are now ready to terminate the 20-year deal to make way for a new signing
Journalist Fabrizio Romano reports Celtic they decided to terminate the current player’s contract in the January transfer window, paving the way for an immediate replacement.
Celtic’s latest transfer
Real Valladolid winger Raul Moro he has been linked with a move to Parkhead in recent days, as Brendan Rodgers is looking at more attacking reinforcements between now and the end of the season. It has been reported that the Hoops are considering a bid for the 22-year-old, who can play almost anywhere in attack.
Meanwhile, the Aston Villa youngster Louie Barry also seen as a possible addition for Celtic, s Scottish Premiership champions who are inquiring about signing the young striker this month.
Former Hoops left-back Kieran Tierney is on the verge of returning to the club, in an exciting job, after struggling to ever be an important part of Mikel Arteta’s plans in north London. The preliminary contract is reportedly close to being signed.
As for departures in the January window, there is some concern over the future of Celtic’s key left-back Greg Taylorwith the long-time Hoops star wanted by a number of Championship clubs. Hull City and Queens Park Rangers have been named as his suitors.
Celtic terminated the player’s loan
According to Roman on X, Celtic have decided to terminate Alex Valle’s loan deal at the club this month, ahead of Tierney’s arrival, and Como are now “closer” to signing him from Barcelona.
Moving Valle in the coming weeks seems like the logical thing to do for Celtic, given that his loan spell at the club didn’t necessarily go to plan after he arrived from Barca last August.
The 20-year-old was just getting started seven league gameswith Taylor always preferred at left-back, limiting his importance to Rodgerswho admittedly spoke positively of him earlier in the season.
“He’s a good player, now he’s used to it, he sees how it works, strong, fast, serves well. The big thing about him, which I really like – especially when he came on against Dortmund – was faith. He believes, he’s a player, and I’ve always said that playing for Celtic you have to believe in yourself.”
All of this makes sense assuming the Tierney deal goes through, which seems highly likely, with the Scot signing a pre-contract ahead of a permanent summer move but joining Celtic on loan until the end of the season.

His vast experience makes him an upgrade on Valle, while for the young full-back a move to Italy under Cesc Fabregas could undoubtedly look like a mouth-watering opportunity.
