Arsenal want to sign £55m ace to score 3 against Spurs
After a pretty miserable few weeks Arsenal who saw the points fall in the Premier Leaguecrash out of FA Cup and they give themselves a mountain to climb League Cuplast night was a breath of fresh air.
Mikel Arteta the team went into the north London derby knowing that nothing but a win was good, and although they conceded first, they were by far the better team.
Gabriel Magalhães set up Dominic Solanke to score an own goal to equalise, then out-of-form Leandro Trossard turned back the clock to last season and scored a superb winner, all within four minutes.
If anything, the Gunners could, and probably should have, won by a much wider margin, and had they already signed a player recently touted for a move to the Emirates, they might have.
Arsenal are on the hunt for an international striker
According to a recent report from TEAMtalkArsenal have maintained a strong interest in the sensational Juventus centre-forward, Dusan Vlahovic.

Mega money deals, controversial moves and big name failures. This is the home of transfer news and opinion across the Football FanCast.
In fact, the report goes a step further, confirming that the Gunners have now made the Serbian international their No.1 striker target for this month and will gather further information on him before deciding whether to make a concrete offer for him ‘this week.’
If the North Londoners do decide to make a move for the 24-year-old this week, then they will have to invest heavily, as the report has revealed that the Old Lady striker is valued at €65m, which translates to around £55m.
It would be an expensive and potentially complicated transfer to get over the line, but given Vlahovic’s ability and Arsenal’s need for a new striker, it’s a transfer worth pursuing, especially as he would have scored a hat-trick against Spurs last night.
Why would Arsenal sign Vlahovic?
So, to cut to the chase, the primary reason why Arsenal should go all out for Vlahovic this week, and the reason he would surely bury the Lilywhites last night, is his performance and impressive record.
For example, this season alone and playing for the poor Juventus, the Serbian “superstar”, as he called European football correspondent Andrew Cesarehe found the back of the net on 12 times and two assists for good measure in just 23 appearances, a total of 1,873 minutes, which equates to a goal share on average every 1.64 games, or every 133.78 minutes.
For comparison, Kai Havertz has the same number of goals and one more assist this season, but in 28 performances totaling 2322 minuteswhich means that he averages a goal every 1.86 games, or every 154.8 minutes.
Moreover, while the German’s goalscoring record from past seasons is more than spotty, Juve’s ace has been a reliable source of goals for several years now.
For example, he found the back of the net 49 times in 108 games for Fiorentina and registered eight assists, while currently with 53 goals and 11 assists for the Old Lady in 124 appearances, which means he has maintained an average of a goal share every 1.89 for the former and averages one every 1.90 for the latter.

Finally, despite his physical stature and strength, the Belgrade-born marksman is not just a target for playing balls, as according to respected analyst Ben Mattinsonhe is “deadly in transition with balls behind” and “has developed his game against low blocks,” which sounds like the kind of striker the Gunners need in a team full of players who prefer the ball to their feet and struggle to exploit transitions in at this time of the season.
Ultimately, this could require significant investment from the board, but Arsenal are in desperate need of a new profile at the top and Vlahovic looks like he would be the perfect option and someone to put Spurs on the knife last night.
