The newly released body footage shows the rescue of a 100-year-old woman in the senior life-long housing complex during the Eaton Fire earlier this month.
Sheriff MPs in Los Angeles (Lasd) Nicholas Martinez and Quinn Alkonis can be seen searching for a residents who need help on January 8th. They go from door to door, hallway to the hall, knock and ask if anyone remained behind.
The flame is so close to the complex that the orange glow and smoke can be seen from the windows of the units.

He continues to search, saying, “Sheriff’s department. Anyone inside? You have to evacuate.”
MPs eventually hear someone and rushed to reveal a woman disoriented and struggling to find her way.

“Don’t lose me,” one can hear a woman telling MPs, who promise to surely pull her out.
Asked by the MP if she heard them shouting, she said she was not because of the deaf and that she had no hearing apparatus.

“I also commend them all the deputies who responded to the fires for their unwavering commitment and service to the community, tirelessly working on saving life in the midst of such a danger,” said Sheriff Robert Luna in a statement. “Their courage and selflessness show the highest standards of law enforcement and deserve our deepest respect and gratitude.”
The Eaton fire began on January 7th and spent more than 14,000 acres of land. That’s 99%, according to Cal Fire. The cause is under investigation.
