America’s songs at the Sugar Bowl after the terror attack in New Orleans represent a united America, Saints star says
New Orleans Saints star defensive end Cam Jordan was coming out of practice when the TV came on and he heard the chants of “USA” in the Sugar Bowl.
Chants came from the crowd after the game was postponed a day due to the terrorist attack that took place on Bourbon Street in the early hours of New Year’s Day. In total, at least 14 victims were killed and several were injured.
Jordan, 35, spoke about what those songs meant to him when he joined “Fox and Friends” on Friday.

“New Orleans is a resilient city. In order to postpone the Sugar Bowl for a day, Mayor Cantrell went to Bourbon Street to hold a prayer before the game, and then walked out at the start of the Sugar Bowl because we just come from practice, turn on the TV and hear the songs of the USA- a – you know exactly what it’s about,” Jordan said.
“This is about supporting each other, this is about America supporting each other, this is about understanding that this is a tragedy that we will overcome. If nothing else, we understand that as the city of New Orleans, we have the support of the rest of the country. “
Jordan has he spent his entire 14-year career with the Saints and was a leader not only on the field, but off it as well.

Jordan said he donated $25,000 New Year’s Tragedy Fund in a post on social networks.
“Honestly, I’m blessed enough to be in a position where I can go forward and give back. I think when I think about the tragedy that happened on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Eve on Bourbon Street, when you know people are out there trying to celebrate, have a good time, it’s our town,” Jordan said.
“Ever since I’ve been here, I’ve felt like I’ve been a part of this city and I’ve made it known that I love this place through the ups and downs. So when it comes to something like this, I just want to give back, make sure it’s done the right way. . I wanted to make sure that these victims would be helped, and the Greater New Orleans fund clearly opened a fund for that.”

An eight-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro, Jordan was an Iron Man, missing just two games during his illustrious career.
This season, Jordan has four sacks in 33 total tackles with the Saints.
