Klobuchar Gets ‘Community Note’ on X After Jan. 6 Reaction to ‘Slain’ Officer Claims: ‘Just Sick’
Democratic Senator from Minnesota. Amy Klobuchar is facing backlash from both user X and the platform itself for her post about the January 6, 2021 riots on Capitol Hill in which she claimed police officers were “injured and killed.”
“Four years ago, the verification of election votes was interrupted by a violent crowd. Police officers were injured and killed,” Klobuchar published on X on Tuesday. “Our democracy hung in the balance. I knew we had to do our duty and complete the count – and in the early hours of January 7th, we did.”
That post was soon filled with a “Community Note” from X that read, “No cops were killed.”
“The medical examiner determined that Sicknick died of natural causes, meaning ‘disease alone causes death. If death is hastened by injury, the manner of death is not considered natural.’ Four other officers committed suicide days or months later.”

“No cops were killed,” conservative commentator Dana Loesch published on X.
“No cops killed,” Red State writer Bonchie published on X. “The time to stop lying about this was long overdue.”
“Can someone explain to me why it’s okay for politicians to lie about this all the time?” Bonchie added. “Let’s say you think J6 is the worst thing ever. Fine, but how does that make it acceptable to say cops were killed? It’s been four years and the fact checkers still won’t touch it.”

“It’s so sickening to see people lie about who was killed,” Federalist Editor-in-Chief Mollie Hemingway published on X. “A Trump supporter was shot and killed, but no police officers were killed. Someone of your stature shouldn’t brazenly lie about this. Just sick.”
“She should be convicted of this lie,” Right Turn Strategies President Chris Barron published on X.
“Not a single police officer was killed on January 6,” Federalist election correspondent Brianna Lyman published on X. “Sicknick died of natural causes on January 7. Two officers died of suicide in the weeks that followed, while two other officers who were not present at the time of the protest later died of suicide that cannot be directly linked to J6.”
“No cops killed,” conservative writer Ben Kew published on X. “The only person who was killed was Ashli Babbitt, a Trump supporter.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Klobuchar’s office for comment, but did not hear back.

US Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick he suffered two strokes and died of natural causes a day after confronting rioters on Jan. 6, according to Washington’s chief medical examiner.
“The USCP accepts the findings of the District of Columbia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner that Officer Brian Sicknick died of natural causes,” Capitol Police said in 2021. press release. “This does not change the fact that Officer Sicknick died in the line of duty, bravely defending Congress and the Capitol.”
Law enforcement officers witnessed in 2021 that around 140 police officers were injured in the riots.
