Alphonso Davies’ agent plans meetings with 4 clubs as talks with Bayern Munich fall apart
The representative of Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies is set to meet with four different European giants to discuss a move for his client after talks over a contract extension stalled, according to reports.
Davies is rushing through the last six months of his current contract with Bayern. Despite remaining the undisputed starter for Vincent Kompany’s Bundesliga leaders, the club and his agent, Nick Househ, failed to agree a new contract for the flying full-back.
This uncertainty and looming free agency has drawn interest from elite clubs across the continent. For a long time, Real Madrid behaved like Davies’ strongest suitorsalthough Manchester United’s search for a new left-back has led to connections with the giants of the Premier League.
Bayern Munich seemed to have rowed back public ultimatum sign or be traded in July and offered to a player new and improved conditions in November.
However, there is still no deal and Davies’ agent is ready to leave Munich to open talks with his client’s numerous suitors, according to BUILD‘with Christian Falk.
Four clubs – Real MadridManchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City – have been named as destinations for Househ’s outlet.
While the interest of Madrid and United is well established, Liverpool could be inclined to snap up the 24-year-old Champions League winner as the long-term successor to the declining Andy Robertson. The club’s much-loved and highly decorated defender has not enjoyed his best campaign by his own admission, collecting more red cards (one) than assists (zero) this term.
City don’t even have a natural senior left-back to replace. Joško Guardiol most often replaced Pep Guardiola there, who already started rebuilding the defense in January. A young duo of central defenders Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Husanov both will arrive in Manchester this month. Whether Davies will follow in the summer remains to be seen.
