Aaron Rodgers talks the future of the NFL after a possible final game with the Jets
Aaron Rodgers threw four touchdown passes to help the New York Jets crush the Miami Dolphins’ playoff hopes Sunday night, 32-30.
It may have been the 41-year-old guard’s last game as rumors of his imminent retirement have been swirling for weeks. Despite the lackluster season, Rodgers became the fifth player in NFL history to reach the 500-touchdown passing plateau in a career.

Rodgers talked about his next steps after the game.
“We will have talks in the next few days,” he said. via SNY. “Whatever happens out there, I don’t know if anything will be final from it. But I just need some time to think about my future in the game, and my future here if they want me to be a part of the next phase or if they’re ready to move on, in any case, I’m grateful for my two years.”
Rodgers said he intends to meet with team owners Woody and Christopher Johnson. He added that he will not be “upset or offended” by what they decide to do.
The Jets acquired Rodgers from Green Bay Packers Prior to the start of the 2023 season, he had four snaps in Week 1 before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury.
Restlessness and careless effort created a negative narrative around the team. The Jets fired Robert Saleh and then-general manager Joe Douglas in the middle of the season.
New York finished 5.-12.
