A New York man charged with attempted murder after allegedly pushing a passenger on a subway track
A man is in critical condition after being pushed on top of him New York City subway tracks on New Year’s Eve, adding to a recent spate of violent incidents on the nation’s busiest subway system.
The victim, a 45-year-old man, miraculously survived being hit by an oncoming 1 train at the 18th Street station. He suffered a head injury and was in stable condition at Bellue Hospital Tuesday night, the New York Post reported.
“By God’s hand, he fell perfectly into the trench,” one police source told the Post.
The NYPD received a 911 call claiming an assault was in progress subway station on Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to find a 45-year-old man had been struck by a southbound train after allegedly being pushed to the subway tracks, according to authorities.
The ordeal was captured on video and shows a hooded man at the edge of the platform and the victim looking at her phone as the train pulls into the station.
The video then shows what appears to be an unsuspecting man being pushed onto the tracks and disappearing under the train.

Kamel Hawkins, 23, is charged with attempted murder after allegedly pushing a stranger, police said.
The injured 45-year-old man was taken to the hospital hospital in critical condition state.
Tuesday’s violence comes less than two weeks after the woman — identified as 57-year-old Debrina Kawam — was set on fire while sleeping on a train in Brooklyn on Dec. 22. She died, and the man was charged with murder and arson in her death.
