The full Premier League table for 2024
The 2024 Premier League calendar was fittingly concluded with Manchester United’s defeat at home on Monday night.
The year began with Newcastle losing away to Liverpool on New Year’s Day amid the Magpies’ slumping campaign, but Eddie Howe’s side are on the rise again and their convincing triumph over the Red Devils illustrated their revival.
Only a handful of teams can say 2024 was an unqualified success, with most struggling for consistency throughout the year. Even Manchester City, who secured their fourth consecutive league title in May, faltered drastically in the 2024/25 season. and is fighting for a place among the top four.
As you know, there are no calendar year success trophies, but it’s still intriguing to rate the most successful outfits between January 1st and December 31st. The fortunes of teams can change drastically per season.

Arsenal endured another second place finish in the 2023/24 season, but still finished the year as the most productive team in the Premier League. Mikel Arteta’s team scored 85 points from 36 games and lost only three times.
They also conceded the fewest goals (25) in the calendar year.
Their number of points is tied with the current leading leagues Liverpoolwho played the game more. The Reds stumbled last season as Jurgen Klopp bid farewell, but Arne Slot built on the solid foundations left by the German and helped Liverpool become the division’s dominant force once again. No Premier League team has scored more goals than the Merseysiders (92).
Manchester City enjoyed a 23-game unbeaten run and won nine in a row to lift another title in 2024, but a poor run at the end of the year means City are third in the annual table with 82 points. They would undoubtedly have finished 2024 at the summit had they not endured such a miserable run between early November and Boxing Day. However, they are comfortably better than Chelsea, who are fourth with 70 points.
Interesting. Mauricio Pochettino helped Chelsea to more points during his last 19 games in charge (38) than Enzo Maresca during his first 19 (35).
Bournemouth and Fulham are among the surprise packages in the top half of the table for 2024, with Tottenham and Manchester United enduring equally disappointing years. Ange Postecoglou led Spurs to their lowest point tally in a calendar year since 2009, with only Brentford and Wolves losing more.
Everton were the weakest side among the teams that stayed in the first division all year. The Toffees escaped relegation relatively comfortably last season and currently have decent protection from the drop zone, but have recorded a paltry 31 points from 36 games in 2024 and won just eight games.
Southampton took on the hopeless mantle of Sheffield United after returning to the Premier League via the play-offs. The Saints and Blades have combined for 13 points and two wins in 2024. Sheffield Utd, who are looking strong again in the second division, have conceded a staggering 55 goals in just 18 games (3,056 per game). Southampton scored 12 goals in 19 games.
