Arsenal pundit Charles Watts has urged the club to consider the possibility of signing Arda Guler on loan from Real Madrid.
Speaking exclusively for CaughtOffside in his latest Daily Briefing column, Watts made it clear that he could see Guler has an impact at the Emirates Stadiumand that the loan deal could have similar potential to the one that first saw Martin Odegaard join the club.
Arsenal are in need of some attacking reinforcements this January following the injury to star Bukayo Saka, with Mikel Arteta’s side likely already lacking enough options in that area even before the England international’s injury.

Guler has long been considered a top young talent, but he is struggling with playing time due to so much competition at the Bernabeu, so maybe he could use a loan.
If Real decide to allow the Turkey international to temporarily step aside to play more, it could also suit Arsenal, who need short-term cover.
The loan of Arda Guler could be a good option for Arsenal
Discussing potential targets for AFC ahead of January, Watts said: “Arda Guler on loan from Real Madrid would also be an interesting short-term move. We have seen Arsenal have success with such a deal in the past. Just think of Martin Odegaard for example.
“Guler is young, but he has shown that he can perform on the biggest stage and that he has the talent to make a difference in the final third.
“So it could be an option for Arsenal, it’s up to them to go there and find them.”
CaughtOffside they were recently told that Arsenal are interested in Guleras well as Liverpool, although it is not yet clear whether this has made a significant difference.
