Arsenal learn the devastating extent of Bukayo Saka’s hamstring injury
Arsenal fear Bukayo Saka could be out until March with his latest hamstring injury injurythe report claims.
Saka went down clutching his hamstring in the recent win over Crystal Palace and manager Mikel Arteta has since confirmed the winger will miss “many weeks“, refusing to give an exact time frame for Saka’s recovery.
Although initial estimates put Saka on the sidelines for up to six weeks, Daily Mail state Arsenal they fear their star striker could actually take twice as long to get back on the pitch.
It is the most serious of the three hamstring injuries Saka has suffered this season and Arsenal are carrying out in-depth checks to establish the full extent of the damage, but there are concerns that repeated hamstring damage could force Saka to the sidelines for an extended period.
Upon his return in March, Saka would miss as many as ten Premier League games, including clashes with Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and West Ham United.
Arsenal travel to face Manchester United on March 8 and then host Chelsea seven days later on March 15 – two games for which Arteta will be desperate to get Saka back.
Arteta has already admitted Arsenal could be forced into the transfer market in January to help him deal with Saka’s absence, not least because usual substitute Raheem Sterling is also out for weeks.
