A neighborly quarrel led to a man from florida attacked a neighbor with a knife, it was learned from the authorities who came to the scene.

The suspect, identified as 48-year-old Addiel Herrera, is accused of assaulting his duplex neighbor after the two got into an argument. The incident happened on December 28, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), which shared body camera footage on Facebook.

Herrera allegedly went to grab the knife while the victim — who authorities have not identified except that she is a woman — tried to separate herself from him by closing her garage and locking the door.

Herrera then allegedly pounded on the victim’s door.

“When the victim opened the door, Herrera went inside and hit the victim, injuring their hand,” LCSO said. “The victim was able to push Herrera through the door, where he proceeded to stab the door multiple times.”

Deputies found Herrera in his garage.

On body camera footage, a deputy can be heard yelling, “Get over here, now!” Herreri repeatedly in Spanish. Herrera had his hands – which appeared to be covered in blood – raised in the air when he told the deputy in Spanish to come in where he was.

Herrera was then lowered to the ground where he was redressed. He was charged with armed burglary and assault and is being held without bond in the Lee County Jail.

Herrera’s criminal history includes an arrest for battery and resisting an officer in September, “along with various other violent charges,” LCSO said.

LCSO told Fox News Digital that the altercation started when the man made a comment about a family member of the suspect.

“It’s no surprise that this man has a long criminal history that includes aggravated assault and serious injury,” Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a statement. “Violence of any kind will NOT be tolerated in Lee County. Not only is it a bad neighbor, it is a bad resident of Lee County.”
