Tucker and her family members did not definitely say whether to file charges against Everett after the incident in an interview WSET ABC 13. However, they are now officially pressed, as Everett is facing a misdemeanor number of attacks and batteries.
Everett has since said hits were random, in interviews with Wavy and “Good Morning America”.
Before being announced at Everett, Portsmouth Naacp posted a statement on Wednesday defending a teenager.
“Alaila is not a striker and media title that alludes in any way in any way. We understand the sensitivity of the circumstances for both athletes and their families involved, but this narrative must not go without nutritional,” the statement said.
“Alaila is the honor of a student and star of an athlete at the IC Norma Historical School. From everything, she is an exceptional young leader and a scientist whose athletic talent is well documented and recognized in our country. She wore integrity on and out of the field and any story that her criminal offenses were criminal offenses.”
Fox News Digital addressed Everett’s family via Portsmouth Public School District for comment.
Last Friday, Tucker recounted an incident in an interview with the WSET ABC 13 and said that the entire section sighed when they saw it killed repeatedly.
“The whole part has just sighed,” Tucker told the station about those around her in bleach. “The family came out of the city. Her godparents were here from the Myrtle Beach. Everyone just gasped. When I saw her descending, all I could do was escape from a bleach. I just knew I had to get to her.

“She was kind of hysterical because she just couldn’t believe it happened.”
Everett claims the hits happened because she lost her balance and the stick “stuck” behind her opponent.
“After a few times when I hit her, my stick got stuck behind her back like this, and she rolled over in her back. I lost my balance when I pumped her hands again. She hit,” Everett said in an interview with wavy. “I know my intentions and I would never intentionally hit someone.”
Everett also said that although it caused physical pain for Tucker, there is not enough empathy for Everett’s “mental” influence.
“Everyone has feelings, so you are physically injured, but you don’t think about my mental,” Everett said. “They assume my character, they call me ghetto and racial pus threats, death threats … All from the video in nine seconds.”
During the Good Morning America interview on Wednesday, Everett and her family showed a different corner of the recording and again performed an incident to try to prove that it was an accident.

Virginia High School League (VHSL) previously published a Fox News Digital statement on the matter.
“VHSL does not comment on individuals or disciplinary actions because of Ferpa,” the league statement said. “The actions taken by the Director of the Meet for the Disqualification of the runners were appropriate and correct.
