More than 500 days have passed since Hamas’s brutal attack on October 7th – the most deadly attack on Jews since the Holocaust.
More than 500 days of timid than certain politicians. More than 500 days of empty words. Yet, the hatred of the Jews does not decline – it explodes. In New York, the home of the largest Jewish population outside Israel, Jewish students are not just undesirable, but are not sure.
Jewish students across New York are under siege. Numbers don’t lie:
- 72% of Jewish students feel unwanted in the campus.
- 52% have personally experienced anti -Semitism at its school.
- 67% says their university did nothing to protect them after October 7th.
- 43% actively hides its Jewish identity out of fear.
This crisis is real and gets worse. Reports place New York in Hall of Shame on for Anti -Semitism in Campus. Institutions like Cornell, Columbia, New School and NYU have received failed grades to act with attacks on Jews. The University of New York (Cuny) and the State University of New York (Suny) also tortured repeated incidents antisemic harassment. It’s out of unacceptable – it’s a shame.

Let’s be clear: free speech does not mean free to support the terrorizing of Jewish students. At Barnard College, we have witnessed disorders in Palestinian classrooms, protesters who stormed the campus, injured a school employee and escalated tensions out of control. These individuals did not express their opinions. Safe learning was run out of Jewish students.
Students are entitled to protest. They are not entitled to the property of the command, they are terrifying their classmates or wider violent hatred. If you cross the line from protest to persecution, the appropriate response is not a warning. It’s a expulsion. While countries like Florida and Texas take brave action, New York’s leadership remains sleeping on a car. Meanwhile, Senator Chuck SchumerThe government of Kathy Hochul and Mayor Eric Adams maintain the same tired speeches, condemn hatred in public statements and then do nothing. Jewish students are still harassed, attacked and silenced. The New York Democratic leaders voted for granted Jewish, but they should not. They allowed this crisis to be bothering under their clock.
As a proud Jewish-American legislator and a member of the Jewish legislators at the New York State Assembly, I refuse to stand while our students are forced to live in fear. The fight against anti -Semitism is not politics. It is about moral clarity. And that’s why I take action.

I introduced the United Act against hatred, a brave, healthy plan for combating anti -Semitism through education, consciousness and action. My account includes:
- The New York registration table stands with Israel ” – allowing New Yorkers to proudly show their support, at the same time financing effort to rescue hostages.
- High school competition throughout the country – teaching students about the dangers of anti -Semitism and reality on October 7 with creative expression.
It’s not just about politics – it’s about ensuring that the next generation realizes that Jewish hatred is not an abstract concept. It is a real and present danger.
While democratic leaders in New York offer lip service, President Donald Trump He was the strongest defender of Jewish students in America. His administration has taken a real action against anti -Semitism in the campus when others have only offered empty words. The Executive Order of President Trump has strengthened the Department of Education on the fight against anti -Semitism to consider the universities responsible in accordance with the title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Due to this command, the Federal Government launched investigations into five universities where anti -Semitic harassment became furious. That’s how the real leadership looks. And that’s the standard we should require.

History will judge us by what we do at the moment. Shall we stand while the hatred of the Jews is expanding unverified or will we take brave measures to stop it?
Jewish students should not hide their identity to feel safe at school. You should not wonder if their professors, classmates or administrators will defend their rights. And certainly they should not leave them to take care of themselves, while politicians offer nothing but a hollow statement. If schools and universities refuse to act, then we must consider them responsible. If they tolerate anti -Semitism, they should be rejected – to be placed simply.
This is a test of moral clarity. I know where I stand. Where are New York leaders?
