The brilliant run continues as Forest remain third

Nottingham Forest made it six straight wins in the Premier League, seeing off a much better Wolves side to move level on points with second-placed Arsenal.

Goalkeeper Matz Sels made a couple of good saves to keep Wolves out of the game in a brilliant first half, and at the other end Morgan Gibbs-White, Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi all scored after famous counter-attacks.

Wolves manager Vitor Pereira will be heartened by the fact that his side created so many good chances but were unable to capitalize on them and Forest were masters at finishing their chances.

Former Wolves boss Nuno Esprito Santo has now seen his side take the lead in 16 of their 20 league games and sit just six points behind Liverpool – who they host next week.

With new England manager Thomas Tuchel in the stands, Forest marked the 50th anniversary of the appointment of their greatest ever manager, Brian Clough, in style.

Elliot Anderson’s forward pass found Gibbs-White who ran at the Wolves defence, swapped passes with Anthony Elango and found the bottom corner with a deflection.

The former Wolves man was saddened by the home crowd from kick-off and celebrated by putting his fingers in his ears.

An incredible block from Murillo on the line prevented Jorgen Strand Larsen from equalizing after a good run by Hwang Hee-chan, before Sels made a superb save from Rodrigo Gomes.

Another great save denied Larsen’s close-range header before Forest thought they had a penalty for handball, but a VAR check denied Ryan Ait-Nouri.

A long ball forward then allowed Callum Hudson-Odoi to speed down the left and his cutback found Wood, who scored his 12th goal of the season.

Larsen managed to save another good effort after the break, but Forest managed the game brilliantly to win once again – with substitute Awoniyi on hand to turn on James Ward-Prowse’s pass after another electric break at the very end.
