Lewis Hamilton ‘positive’ and ‘hungry’ about Ferrari move for 2025 Formula 1 season | F1 news
Lewis Hamilton says he “couldn’t be more excited” for the coming year as he prepares for his first season with Ferrari in 2025.
In a post on LinkedInHamilton – who turns 40 on January 7 – has spoken of his desire to get started with his new team, having signed a multi-year deal back in February last year.
The seven-time world champion is the most successful driver in F1 history with 105 victories and 104 pole positions. Michael Schumacher is the only driver with seven world championship titles.
“I couldn’t be more excited for the year ahead,” Hamilton wrote in his post. “Moving to Scuderia Ferrari has a lot to think about.
“To anyone considering their next move in 2025: embrace change. Whether you’re changing industries, learning new skills, or even just taking on new challenges, remember that reinvention is powerful.
“Your next opportunity is always within reach. Here’s to 2025 – the year of embracing new opportunities, being hungry and moving forward with purpose. Let’s make it one to remember. Andiamo #newjob.”
Hamilton teams up with Charles Leclerc at Ferrari, taking over from Carlos Sainz, who has since moved to Williams.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen will aim for a fifth consecutive F1 world title in 2025, a feat achieved only by Schumacher from 2000 to 2004.
The 2025 season calendar features a record 24 Grands Prix for the second consecutive year, although this time it starts in Melbourne, Australia on March 16, with Albert Park hosting its first season opener since 2019.
