The Eurostar Services suspended, and thousands of stranded as mine approval at the Gare Du Nord station in Paris causes travel chaos.
Thousands of passengers in France and the United Kingdom were stranded after the Second World War bomb was discovered on the trails leading to the main train station in Paris.
Eurostar, an operator of fast trains traveling between key European cities, announced the cancellation of all its services to and from its center in the French capital on Friday.
A spokesman for the French national railway operator, SNCF, said that a non -exploded World War II bomb was discovered during work near the Gare Du Nord station.
The services will be allowed to continue only after French police have been completed by “MINA Operations”, the spokesman added.
Gare du Nord is the main European transit center, which serves international destinations north of France, like London; European Union capital, Brussels; Netherlands; and the main airport in Paris and many regional destinations.
The bomb discovered at about 4am (03:00 GMT) workers working on running near the trails in the Seine-Saint-Denis region. The minobaries are sent to the place and their surgery is still taking place.
Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot expected the disorder to continue at least the rest of the day.
The bombs remaining from World War I and World War II regularly revealed themselves to France, but it is rarely found in such a densely populated place.
‘Options Limited’
The consequences quickly broke outside the French borders. In Brussels, trains to Paris were canceled at least on Friday afternoon.
“No solution. We’ll call the hotel and stay another day and change the train ticket,” said Michel Garrot, a retired Parisian to visit the Belgian capital, said the Associated Press news agency.
At the London Station of ST Pancras, passengers who were looking forward to Paris charms found that their plans were abandoned.
“We look at flight, but our options are limited,” Passenger said Lauren Romeo-Smith for AP.
In Paris, Passenger Kasman Ibrahimi told the Reuters news agency that he had planned to catch a train to Köln in Germany, but now he will look for another route.
The French SNCF Railway operator said Gare du Nord usually sees 700,000 passengers a day, making it the most prominent rail center in Europe.
