‘Should not be happy’ – Sunil Gavascar destroys Gautam Gambhir because of the blind dam of Rohita Sharma

The Indian National Cricket team, legend Sunil Gavaskar, dismissed the defense of Gautama’s main coach Gambhira from the approach of Captain Rohita Sharma with a baton in the current ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Sunil Gavaskar said Rohit Sharma should not be happy that he scored 25-30 runs for Team India and should look deep, which would be more influential.

Rohit Sharma is yet to shoot at ICC Champions Trophy 2025

The Indian skipper has not yet shot with a baton in the liquid ICC champion of the Trophy 2025. He continued his ultra-aggressive approach with a baton to give his team flying starts, but this resulted in his failure to achieve big driving.

So far, the highest result of Rohit Sharma in the current ICC champion of the Trophy 2025 was 41, which was against the Bangladesh in the Indian tournament.

In three other matches against Pakistan, New Zealand and Australia, he registered results of 20, 15 and 28. Rohit Sharma received great criticism from the cricket fraternity because he did not turn his start into major results.

However, the head coach Gautam Gambhir jumped in the defense of Rohit Sharma, saying that they judge the dough by the influence he makes on the team, not the numbers.

Meanwhile, in interacting with India Today, Sunil Gavaskar said that Rohit Sharma’s attacking brand did not bring him a huge success and giving up that could be more useful.

“This is an approach that has been following for the last two years. He started around the World Cup in India, and he adhered to these formulas. He had some success, although not so much as his talent should be guaranteed. He is an incredibly talented player with a series of blows that are not many others in the game,” Gavascar said.

“Therefore, from an aesthetic standpoint, from the perspective of a pleasant crowd, I’m not talking from a team’s point of view. He deals with as many as 25 additions, India will be around 180-200. Imagine if they lost only a few hicket by then; just think what they could do-they could reach 350 or more.”

Sunil Gavaskar further said Rohit Sharma should not be pleased with a 25-30 run knockout, and should take a deep killed in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 ICC Champions Final to take away the match from the opposition team.

“He also has to think. One thing is to go out and play aggressively, but there must be a little discretion somewhere to give himself the opportunity to hit 25-30 additions. If he did, he took away the game from the opposition,” Gavaskar added.

“Such an impact has won the match. And I think you, as a dough, are satisfied with the achievement of 25-30 runs? You should not be! So, I would say that: your influence on the team will be even greater if you knock for 25 additions instead of only seven, eight or nine additions.”
