Florida school employee arrested after allegedly opening fire on police officers in Kentucky

AND man from florida was arrested after police say he shot two officers in Kentucky.
Tombe Juma-Kose Thomas, 35, was arrested Dec. 28, according to Louisville police. Fox 35 reported. He faces two counts of attempted murder and is being held at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections on $250,000 bail, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday in a Kentucky court.
Louisville police responded to 1117 Reutinlinger Avenue, where Thomas was staying at an Airbnb with his girlfriend while visiting family.

Thomas barricaded himself in the bathroom because he suspected there was an intruder in the house, and he accused his girlfriend of setting him up.
When officers arrived, police said they knocked on the bathroom window to announce their presence.
Then Thomas fired one shot towards the window where he was two officers were. The bullet passed over the policemen’s heads and no one was injured.
Thomas eventually came out of the house and was arrested.

He later said he “fired a warning shot” through the window.
Volusia County Schools in Florida confirmed that Thomas is employed by the district as an instructor for the Positive Alternatives to Suspension program at Atlantic High School, according to Fox 35. He previously worked as a special education instructor at Deltona High School. He was also a football coach at both schools.

“Further details will need to be released by police as the investigation is ongoing,” the district said in a statement. “VCS has also opened an internal professional standards investigation into the individual. Any further action will be determined by the findings of those investigations.”
Thomas is also a former Syracuse University quarterback.
