South Korean police are investigating a Japanese for kissing BTS stars Jin
South Korean police have invited the Japanese to question after being accused of kissing Jin, a member of the K-POP Supergroup BTS, without consent during a public event last year.
The Japanese, whose name was not revealed, was in a crowd of fans at an event in Seoul last June that celebrated Jin’s release from the South Korean army after its mandatory 18 months of service. Jin, whose real name is Kim Seok-Jin, offered hugs to her fans when Japanese kissed him suddenly on her cheek.
Videos that have become viral have shown that Jin looks uncomfortable when several fans have tried to kiss him. After that, someone filed an official legal appeal on the Government’s website, to which authorities may respond if they consider them a worthy investigation.
South Korean police have since identified a Japanese woman with the help of a Japanese police, she said she was a Songpa Police Station in southern Seoul.
If a woman accepts the invitation, she will confront the examination of possible charges of sexual harassment, the police station said. They did not say what additional steps they could take if they did not commit.
He did not provide personal information about the woman, but the South Korean newspaper media said that the woman was in 50s and boasted over the internet about how her lips touched Jin’s “soft” skin.
