Mexico Open: Brian Campbell comes out of Alddrich Pogieter with Lucky Play-off Win | Golf news

American Brian Campbell dropped Aldrich Pogieter in the play-offs to win the Mexico Open in Vidantaworth on Sunday.

South African Obgieter, 20, held a slim lead from a stroke that went on Sunday’s last round while chasing PGA Tour’s first victory.

The stroke, however, ended up with an even circle while Campbell made 70 under 70 to take the competitor to the play-off of sudden death, during the Park-Pet.

After both men missed the chances of birds, she returned to the 18th teenager, where Campbell enjoyed a huge slice of happiness.

The American shot went down wide and headed out of the borders, but hit the tree and bounced into the game.

In the meantime, Onsater found a bunker short of green, and then he couldn’t soak his chance for a bird.

This left Campbell Clear to get out of four meters to secure the first victory of his professional career.

“You have to get those breaks sometimes,” Campbell said. “Unfortunately, I hit a really bad T -shirt there, caught the tree, managed to keep it in the game and get into a good place to get a wedge and keep the pressure.

“I was so happy that I managed to stay in it to the end.”

“I hope my time will come soon,” said Obgieter, who won British amateur 2022 at the age of 17, and last year he became the youngest who won the corn Ferry Tour.

“Pressure is a big deal,” he said. “You can’t beat him. You just have to learn it and adjust it next time.”

Isaiah Salinda hit the last round of six below to finish Clear in third place, one goal at 19.

England Aaron Rai shot 67 for fifth place with American Ben Griffin in 18 next.
