Ross Co 3 – 1 Dundee

Birthday boy Noah Chilvers gave himself a ideal gift with a goal in Ross 3-1 over Dundee, which moves Highlanders five points away from the relegation zone.
Former Staggies striker Simon Murray put visitors ahead of three minutes before Kieran Phillips was ashamed of the angry beginning of the first half.
But the second half in the first three minutes brought goals to Akil Wright and Chilvers, who increased the hosts 3-1.
Don Cowie appointed an unchanged team line-up that impressed the Motherwell 3-0 at Fir Park Impressive last weekend.
Dundee went into the match against Dingwall, failed to find a win in the last five league games, scoring 18 goals. However, that series of results included drawing against Kelt and Rangers.
They made three changes in the team that lost to Aberdeen last weekend. Ryan Astley, Finlay Robertson and Seb Palmer-Houlden entered, with MO Sylla, Aaron Donnelly and Scott Tifoney descended on a bench.
The county began the beginning and approached the opening of scoring after three minutes when Ronan Hale set up George Harmon, whose low drive was well saved by Jon McCracken.
Dundee interrupted the stall after four minutes when Simon Murray fired a spectacular effort from the left wing from 20 meters, which ran straight into the upper right corner, giving goalkeeper Jordan Assak no chance.
The county pushed forward to equalize, and Connor Randall fired a low ride from 20 meters, which McCracken diverted around the corner station.
The host’s persistence was awarded in the 18th minute when the cross from the right wing found Hale, and he put the ball in the box to find Phillips indisputable in a six yard box to touch home.
It was Phillips’ first goal for the club, since he arrived from Huddersfield in January with two and a half years in January.
The county began the second half when Chilvers saw his shot saving, and Hale’s effort from jumping hit a place before being cleaned at the corner.
But the resulting blow of George Harmon Flag found Wright, who fired a spectacular bicycle blow to the net from six meters to restore the host advantage.
A minute later it was 3-1 when Phillips sent the ball to the box to find Chilvers, who shot home from eight meters on his 24th birthday.
In the middle of the second half, Sylla stumbled chilvers on the edge of the box, but Harcracken parked Harmon’s Curling Free-Udar.
Dundee rarely threatened to the rest of the game, and the district kept comfortably for all three points.
What did managers say …
Ross district manager Don Cowie: “Probably what thrills me the most is how we reacted after we scored so early in such an important game.
“Simon Murray scored a great goal to give Dundee an advantage, but we never feared it. I thought we deservedly returned to the game at 1-1, considering how we played.
“And I’m really happy, in terms of the way we came out at the beginning of the second half, to score these two goals.
“I believe we had 20 shots on the goal, 10 on Target, which is probably a reflection of how good it was a performance. This harmony is something we talked about and we collectively knew we had to improve in it.
“When you approach the goal, there is no drama – it can happen. Murray is a quality player who has the opportunity to do what he did, but it is about staying calm at that moment and not letting play from you.
“The boys got very well in the game plan at that moment. We got a prize in the second half.”
Dundee manager Tony Docherty: “I have to say that I think the terrain is awful.
“But we have prepared for this all week – that the game will not be fantastic or beautiful and that everything will deal with the first contact and maintain possession in the last third.
“Ross County did all these things better than us.
“It’s hard for me to say, because that’s something I need my players to do better and that’s the reason we had a bad performance and a bad result.”
