Ron Howard, who started his career at the Show Business playing son of Sheriff Andy Griffith on Sitcom in the 1960s, he said he recently learned that he and Knotts were distant relatives.
Now known for his work behind the camera on movies like “Beautiful Mind” and “Apollo 13”, Howard, 71, shared a photo of the late 1990s on his Instagram reunion with his “Andy Griffith” Costari.
He shared that Griffith and Knotts “surprised me with a visit to the #Queens set.” Howard was directed by thriller Mel Gibson from 1996.

He added: “It was recently confirmed that Don and I were actually distant relatives!”
Howard played Opie in the show, which lasted from 1960 to 1968, when he was only 5 years old.
“I will forever have a long Opie Taylor,” he wrote in his book 2021. “Boys: Memoir about Hollywood and family” Closer weekly. “The experience of settlement of that character, walking a kilometer in his kedas, defined my early life.”

Howard remembered the second time when he was 7 years old and filmed the scene for the second season. He said that he told the director that he did not think that the child would tell one of his lines as he was written, and the director told him to say whatever the way he felt made sense.

“I just felt this rush to get involved in something,” he said of my childhood.
Howard said to O’Brien because he was visibly pleased with himself, Griffth asked him, “What are you hting to, Youngin ‘?” And after Howard told him it was his first proposal that the show took, Griffth was waiting for the rhythm, then jokingly replied, “Well, that was the first to be damn good. Now, rehearse the scene!”
Howard also revealed that in the first episode of the show, his father told Griffith that he was written as “Wisea–” suggesting, “What if he actually respected his father?”

Later, Griffith told Howard as an adult to then returned the writers and told them to write opie as a real child.
Howard also said Closer Weekly in 2018 that Griffith and Knotts made it easier for creativity in front of the camera because they shared the respect of each other’s respect for each other.
“Andy was the world’s biggest audience for Don,” he recalled. “Don Andy had literally in tears once a week. [I learned] about the spirit of cooperation, which I carried with myself forever. “

Last year, Knots’s daughter Karen Knotts told Fox News Digital that one of the biggest misconceptions about her father and Griffith was that they were rivals.
“They were not rivals at all,” she explained. “There was no rivalry. Andy was the biggest fan of my father. He was his mentor all his life, and they loved each other.”

Karen told Fox News Digital earlier that the Howard meeting was “my favorite memory from the set”.
“He was so different from any other child I knew,” she shared. “We were the same age and I thought he was just so mature. He always had this little little transistor radio. He would show me and was so involved in the technical aspects of that.
