Israel has pulled its forces from South Lebanon, except five positions, says the Lebanese state news agency. The draw of Israel is a key part of the truce that has completed a one -year conflict with the Shiite militant group Hezbollah.
Israeli ministers said some troops would remain in Lebanon to protect the northern communities of Israel.
In response, Lebanon said Israel must be fully withdrawn. It has been said to consider “a continuation of Israeli presence in any inch of the Lebanese territory of occupation.”
The professor requires that Israel be withdrawn and that the Lebanese army replaces all armed groups south of the Litani River, about 30 km (20 miles) north of Israel.
Hezbollah has been a dominant force in the area for decades, but it was very damaged in the conflict, the most deadly struggled with Israel since the militant group was formed in 1982.
The Lebanese authorities say that more than 3,960 people – many of whom were civilians – were killed during hostilities, and a million others were displaced from the areas where Hezbollah had a strong presence.
Israeli authorities say more than 80 Israeli soldiers and 47 civilians were killed. About 60,000 citizens were displaced from northern Israel.
Most displaced in Lebanon returned home, UN says, while only a minority displaced in Israel, according to reports.
The positions in which the troops of Israeli defense forces (IDF) are arranged on the mountainous ground on the edge of the internationally recognized boundaries between Lebanon and Israel.
On Tuesday, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said that IDF “temporarily remained in five strategic high points.” He added that this is “necessary for our safety”.
“Once Lebanon fully implements his side of the agreement, there will be no need for these points,” he said at a press conference in Jerusalem.
Lebanese soldiers moved to areas that left the Israeli troops and began to clean the blockade of the way and check an unplred command, Associated Press News Agency reported on Tuesday.
Some locals said they were pushed to return to their homes, many of which were broken in the conflict.
“I’m very happy to be back, even if I find my home destroyed,” said Atef Arabi, 36, who returned to the village of Kfar Kila with his wife and two daughters. “If I find my house destroyed, I’ll renew it.”
The draw of Israel was delayed from the original 60 -day deadline – which fell on January 26 – prescribed in a tribute.
In the post for social media on Tuesday, Mr. Katz said: “Idf’s implementing activities against Hezbollah will continue with full power. We will not allow return to reality on October 7th. [2023]” – Referring to the date when Palestinian Hamas Gunmen performed an unprecedented attack on Israel from Gaza.
The next day, Hezbollah launched his military campaign against Israel, saying that he was working solidarity with Palestinians.
