Turkiye’s arrests of people with alleged relationships for “terror” come despite the Government’s efforts to end the Kurdish conflict.
The Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on Tuesday that 282 people had been detained, including journalists, opposition politicians and academics, at the wide whole price of Turkiya people accuse of “terror”.
In the meantime, Ankara wants to revive peacekeeping negotiations with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) – which Turkiye and his Western Allies labeled as a terrorist group – who had frozen decades, a process that began in October when the National Political Party began the nationalist political party to the closed founder of the PKK of Abdullah Father.
The attacks started five days ago in 51 city, including Istanbul, Ankaru and the city of Kurdish majority of Diyarbakir in the southeast, Yerlikaya said on X.
The Turkish authorities on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant for 60 people, including members of the main pro-Kurdish DEM party, several left-wing figures and journalists. They are all detained for alleged terrorist relations, according to a statement of the Istanbul Prosecutor’s Office.
“It is unacceptable that they had been detained during raids to their homes, not invited to the police station,” he said in a reaction, the Turkish journalists’ union, adding that three journalists were among detained.
The DEM party said on X, “it is clear that the prospect of a solution and peace start to maintain some people awake at night.”
Since the end of December, the DEM delegation has twice visited the father-in-law and gave further talks with the main parliamentary fractions of Turkiya. On Sunday, the delegation traveled to Iraq to get acquainted with Kurdish representatives.
Fighters from the PKK Deaches, who spent a decade of rebellion against the Turkish state, operate from the Iraqi region of Kurdistan, where Turkiye also has military bases.
In October, the leader of the Nationalist Party (MHP) Devlet Bahceli urged the father -in -law to give up violence in exchange for possible early release on the island of Imrali, where he has served life in solitary confinement since 1999.
Supported by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the invitation renewed hopes of ending the conflict that killed tens of thousands of people.
Fatherwater is expected to invite their followers to lay their weapons in the coming weeks, and Kurdish politicians are convinced that it will be the no later than New Roz, the Kurdish New Year, in March.
