Speaking after the match against Australia, Captain of Afghanistan Hashmatullah Shahidi said that he hoped for their semi -final chances. Shahidi stated that they did not give up and now rely on England to secure a great victory against South Africa on Saturday.
“As for the tournament, one never knows. We still have hope, hopefully England will win big ones,” Shahidi said as she shared her thoughts after not the result of Aussies.
It is worth noting that the team has been an impressive form in ICC tournaments lately. They had an unforgettable running in the ODA 2023 World Cup and transferred that momentum to the 2024 World Cup, where they reached the semifinals.
