Syria will have a new government from March 1, the provisional foreign minister announced on Wednesday. Syria was led by temporary President Ahmed al-Sharaa, the leader of the former Al Qaede Hayat Tahrir al-Sham branch, since the group led the rebel coalition to overthrow Assad’s regime.
