‘The View’ co-host Sunny Hostion compares January 6 to the Holocaust, slavery

“The View” co-host Sunny Hostin put Jan. 6 on Monday’s list of the worst moments in history, along with the Holocaust. world war and slavery.

“You don’t go any further, because January 6th was a crime. It was one of the worst moments in American history, and when you think about the worst moments in American history, you know, like World War II, the things that happened, You know, like and the holocaust, slavery should never be forgotten because the past becomes prologue if you forget and erase,” said Hostin.

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former aide to President-elect Donald Trump, echoed the Democrats’ defeat and noted that, “yes, democracy is important, but if you can’t pay your bills, it’s hard to care about something as nebulous as democracy.”

“I think the warning signs were there, and I say that with all due respect to Joe Biden. I didn’t agree with a word he said [Washington Post] op-edbut people said we were worried about your age. He waited until August and then gave Kamala Harris this runway to run for president. All the warning signs were there,” Griffin added.

She continued: “These were the Democrats, they had a chance to prevent the inauguration of Donald Trump and here we are, but I hope the smearing ends on January 6th. It wasn’t right and it never will be, no matter how many people lie about it in my book. ”

Co-host Sara Haines said January 6 should be commemorated and said video clips of the riots should be played every year.

“It’s important that every year is commemorated in some way and not compared to 9/11 because, again, it’s not equivalent, but today there are people, including my niece, who didn’t know about 9/11. So when you talk to anybody who was alive at that time, you have a visceral fear response that takes you back there,” Haines said.

The co-hosts also discussed an op-ed written by President Biden condemning the Jan. 6 riots, writing, “The election will be certified peaceful.”

Posted on Monday, Biden’s essay marked the fourth anniversary of the riots on Capitol Hill on January 6 when Trump supporters stormed the building and disrupted the election certification process following Biden’s 2020 election victory. The article focused on Biden’s promises to respect a peaceful transition of power.

Trump promised to pardon the rioters of January 6 on the first day.

“I’m going to look at everything. We’re going to look at individual cases,” Trump told NBC News’ Kristen Welker last month. “But I will act very quickly.”

“Day one, I’m looking for day one. These people have been there — how long has that been? Three, four years,” Trump said. “They’ve been there for years. And they’re in a dirty, disgusting place that shouldn’t be open.”
