Austrian police are looking for a “shaman” fraudster
Police in Austria have issued a European arrest warrant for a woman they believe as Shaman represented victims from large amounts of money.
Police said they discovered Gotovina, jewelry and gold worth 10 million euros (€ 8.3 million) near Vienna at the Mödling House in Mödling.
They said the suspect was a 44-year-old Austrian citizen named only Mariana M, who was named Amel.
Her 29-year-old son was arrested and was detained in the city of Wiener Neustadt.
Police say they believe that Mariana M may have been denying people in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
Police say Mariana M told one victim that “a close cousin is cursed and that she predicted her death. To interrupt this alleged curse, the accused then demanded 730,000 euros for” cleaning rituals “.
They said after the victim handed over the money to the accused in several installments, the suspect broke off the contact. The other woman then informed the victim on the phone that the “shaman” fell into a strong one to whom as a result of a ritual.
The Director of the Police in Donja Austria, Franz Popp, said: “In a world where many people seek answers to important life questions, profiteers have established themselves who claim to have supernatural powers.”
“They exploit the trust of their victims who are in emotional or financial trouble and seek help and support,” he added.
Police have urged any other victims to turn to the lower Austrian State Criminal Investigation Service.
