Trump talks to Davos, while tariffs, DEI draw attention

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump will be addressed World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, virtually Thursday, his first major appearance at an international event since returning to the White House earlier this week.

Trump is expected to attend the ua question-answer session after a speech with Blackstone Chairman Steve Schwarzman, Bank of America President and CEO Brian Moynihan, Banco Santander executive president Ana Botin and Patrick Pouyanné, president and chief executive officer TotalEnergies. They will be joined by WEF founder Klaus Schwab and CEO Børge Brende.

Trump’s appearance comes days after he signed executive orders withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization and Paris Climate Agreement.

He also demanded that the United States establish control over Panama Canal, and renewed his bid for “buy” Greenlandautonomous territory of Denmark.

Since taking office, Trump has said he is considering tariffs of 25%. to products from Mexico and Canada, and variable customs duties of 10%. on imports from China.
