“Go to a weapon safety course. I would recommend, if you are the first owner of a firearm, take a course … Don’t just listen to a few tips from your friend. Get on the course, be responsible,” McCaffrey said.
He compared the process of learning responsible ownership of weapons with football learning at a young age.
“In football, I went to camps and clinics who taught me how to play the game,” he said. “If you are going to own a firearm, you need to go to the course and get a license and be sure to read all about how to properly manage fire weapons.”
