The World Boxing Association will have to sanction the fight against Cruz Vs. Hughes to be an easy eliminator of the title. It could be a waste of time for Cruz to go to the WBA route because the current champion, Gervont Davis, Picks & selects his opposition. It is unlikely that they will agree to fight the talented fighter like Cruz if WBA orders a fight.
If WBA orders Tank Davis to fight Cruz, he will probably ignore them, and if they try to force him, he will surely empty the belt. Andy is the complete opposite of the type of opposition Davis fought throughout his career.
Promotor Eddie Hearn mentioned that Cruz could start an IBF route because Vasily Lomacheko could soon leave that belt. Raymond Muratalla Vs. is expected to BOOK ABDULLAEV WITH THE IBF belt. #6 IBF Cruz has a more chance of fighting the belt with this sanctional body.
Maxi Hughes would be completely full of Cruz. He is not powerful, fast or equipped with skills needed for competition. There is probably no one in a light division who can beat Cruz.
Tank is too limited, Keyshawn Davis has already lost four times and Shakur Stevenson is missing offense. Andy Cruz is an unusual king of 135 pounds.
