Hamas confirmed that his military chief Mohammed Deif was killed at the Israeli Air strike on Gaza’s belt last year.
The Israeli army said in August that he had killed Deifa in the previous month, but Hamas has not confirmed it so far.
Hamas also announced the death of deputy military commander Marwan Issa.
The United States announced the Issa death in March last year. At that time, he was the oldest leader of Hamas who died since the war began on October 7, 2023.
