Lightweight competitor Andy Cruz (5-0, 2 KOs) put on a dominant performance, defeating Omar Salcido (20-2, 14 KOs) via a 10-round unanimous decision in a co-headlining bout Saturday night at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Chelsea. Ballroom, in Las Vegas.

2020 Olympic gold medalist Cruz hurt Salcido in the ninth and tenth rounds with powerful punches he never expected. In the final seconds of the tenth, Salcido was on his feet after Cruz caught him with a right hand, forcing him to hang on for his life.

Cruz landed 203 of 610 punches for a 33% connection rate. For his part, Salcido got 53 out of 474 for 13%.
This performance from Cruz may have stolen the show for tonight’s event, but we’ll have to see what super middleweight opponent Diego Pacheco does in the main event of his 12-round fight against Stevenson Nelson.
