Scottish Premiership: Rangers v Dundee Utd Live on Sky, Celtic Face Dundee again as part of full card | Football news
Here’s what to watch out for at both ends of the table in this weekend’s Scottish premiership…
What’s live on Sky Sports?
Rangers head to Tannadice Park on Sunday looking to banish their day Blues to stop Dundee United closing the gap on them in the premiership.
Philippe Clement’s side have failed to win one of their last four league games on the road – their worst run since 2017 – leaving them 13 points behind in the title race with United 10 behind them in third.
Just 28 per cent of Rangers’ points in the Scottish Premiership this season have been earned, a league low, while Jim Goodwin’s side have only picked up 49 per cent of their points in the division this term at home.
United avoided three straight defeats in the league last time out with a narrow win at St. Mirren, but they are winless in eight league meetings with Rangers.
Will Celtic get revenge on Dundee?
Celtic will be determined to avoid a repeat performance on Saturday after Dundee earned a point against the Scottish champions in a dramatic 3-3 draw a week ago.
Brendan Rodgers’ side have won each of their last seven home league games with a 23-0 aggregate record, their best record at home since March 2014.
The Dark Blues are in strong form with premiership draws against both Old Firm sides followed by a Dundee Derby win to progress in the Scottish Cup.
Will a cup win see Aberdeen’s league record improve?
Aberdeen are winless in their last 12 Premiership games but will be boosted by a return to winning ways last weekend to progress in the Scottish Cup.
The Dons are on their worst run since 1999, but have a chance to record wins against St. Mirren to move to third place.
Stephen Robinson’s side are also struggling for form, losing their last four league games.
They have also conceded 16 goals from set pieces, excluding penalties, in the Scottish Premiership this season, more than any other team in the top flight.
Can Hibs extend their unbeaten run?
Hibs are in great form and could make it eight Premiership games unbeaten this weekend when they face Ross County on Saturday.
If they manage back-to-back wins against the standings, they could move into fifth place in the premiership as they forget their early-season relegation fears.
Ross County have won just one of their last seven league games against HIBS and have lost three of their last four games in Dingwall as they risk another season in the relegation play-offs.
What else should you watch out for?
Endless in 10 league games and already nine points off the foot of the Premiership, you have to wonder if there is a comeback for St Johnstone this season.
They are at home to Motherwell on Saturday looking to improve on the road to stay in the top six, having won just one of their last seven away games.
Hearts are unbeaten in their last four league games and know a result at home could see Kilmarnock out of the play-off places.
Kilmarnock have lost just one of their last 10 Premiership games away at Hearts, but they are on a current six-game winning run on the road.
