ACLU lawyer calls women ‘non-transgender women’ in rant over Trump executive order
American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) attorney Chase Strangio He seemed to be using a new term for a grown human woman on Tuesday.

Trump’s executive ordertitled “Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Bringing Biological Truth Back to the Federal Government,” it clarifies that U.S. policy is to recognize the two sexes, male and female, and that men and women are biologically different, along with addressing how agencies should handle these directives.
One part of the EO is managed by the secretary Housing and urban development produce policies that protect women “who seek out single-sex rape shelters” and other intimate spaces, which Strangio opposed.
Strangio argued that this would “essentially exclude trans people from various forms of the shelter system, under the guise that trans people are an inherent threat to non-trans women.”
After refusing to call biological women “women,” Strangio added that this part of the order “only increases the risk that transgender people face in society, if we are seen as a threat to others just by existing.”
