Japan’s Nidec reports 5% rise in operating profit in third quarter Reuters
TOKYO (Reuters) – Japanese electric motor maker Nidec on Thursday reported a 5 percent rise in third-quarter operating profit to 54.5 billion yen ($348 million), compared with 51.8 billion yen in the same period a year earlier.
Earnings for the three months to the end of December were weaker than the 62.3 billion yen profit estimated by the average of nine analysts surveyed by LSEG.
The Kyoto-based company maintained its full-year operating profit forecast of 240 billion yen. That compared with an average forecast of 245.0 billion yen based on estimates from 20 analysts.
