Zahir Khan dismisses Pakistan’s Azam Khan with a stunning speech
On the fifth ball of the 15th over, Zahir, known for his ability to extract sharp turn from the surface, bowled a ball that was slightly shorter in length and placed wide of the off stump, roughly on the seventh stump line. The ball spun a lot and stayed lower than expected. Azam, expecting a slightly higher bounce, tried to pull the ball towards the mid-kick area. However, the sharp turn combined with the lack of bounce completely fooled the batsman.
As Azam went through the line, the ball turned sharply inward, broke through his defense and clipped the leg stump. It was a textbook example of how a spin bowler can use variations in turn and bounce to unsettle even the most aggressive batsmen.
Azam looked to inject momentum into the innings with his aggressive approach. Facing just seven balls, he has already smashed one six, indicating his intent to dominate the bowlers. However, Zahir’s tactical brilliance ensured that Azam’s stay at the crease was short-lived. The turn of the delivery was so over the top that even a batsman of Azam’s caliber found himself completely outclassed.
