Wolves vs Nottingham Forest: Preview, Predictions and Lineups
Gameweek 20 in the Premier League concludes at Molineux on Monday night when Wolves take on a powerful Nottingham Forest side.
Nuno Espirito Santo returns to his old ground for the first time since taking over the Forest job in December 2023, with the former Wolves boss working wonders at the City Ground.
Forest will finish the game week third in the Premier League table regardless of what happens in the West Midlands after Chelsea dropped points at Crystal Palace. Tricky Trees closed 2024 with a 2-0 win at Everton – their fifth win on the bounce.
Wolves are also enjoying good form, with their recent rise inspired the appointment of Vitor Pereira after the dismissal of Gary O’Neil. The Portuguese manager guided Wolves to wins over Leicester and Manchester United before they picked up a point at Tottenham last weekend thanks to Jorgen Strand Larsen’s superb late finish.
Here 90 minutes a guide to the latest iteration of Monday Night Football from Molineux.

Wolves have been dealt a major blow at the start of 2025, as the FA confirmed that Matheus Cunha will serve a two-match suspension after being charged with disorderly conduct following a game against Ipswich in December.
Goncalo Guedes is ready to step into the position wanted Brazilianbut the Portuguese striker has big boots to fill.
Cunha is one of several Wolves absent for Monday’s game. The hosts will be without Saša Kalajdžić, Enso Gonzalez, Yerson Mosquera, Boubacar Traore, Pablo Sarabia and Toti Gomes due to injuries.
Marino Lemina and Andre are doubts.
Predicted line-up of Wolves against Forest (3-4-3): With; Doherty, Bueno, Dawson; Semedo, Doyle, Gomes, Ait-Nouri; Hwang, Guedes; Larsen.
Sum they have been helped by a lack of injuries this term, although they were without Callum Hudson-Odoi and Murillo for their win at Goodison Park to round off 2024.
Both players are expected to be fit in time for Monday’s game and will also have Ryan Yates available after the midfielder served a one-game suspension.
Danilo is out for a long time, while Ibrahim Sangare is still recovering from a hamstring injury.
Predicted line-up of Forest against Wolves (4-2-3-1): Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Williams; Yates, Anderson; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood.
Wolves will be hampered by Cunha’s absence but held on to claim a point at Spurs last Sunday after the Brazilian was taken off at half-time. The hosts should be able to function without their maverick in attack.
Pereira has inspired this Wolves squad since his arrival, but it remains to be seen whether their recent rise will be sustained.
Forest have proven that they can win in countless ways. While excellent in transition, Nunn’s side did not rely entirely on quick separation. Recent wins at Brentford i Everton prove it.
However, Wolves’ newfound confidence makes Monday’s game tricky, and – for the fifth straight game between these two players – the spoils could be shared.
