Spurs in contact to sign “superstar” rivals for Dominic Solanke
Ange Postecoglou mandate as Tottenham Hotspur the manager was challenging to say the least.
The Aussie undoubtedly brought back the fun factor, but he also failed to stamp out an inconsistent run which saw them lose at home to Ipswich Town and then beat Manchester City 4-0 away in their next game.
He also had mixed luck in the transfer market, with players like Radu Dragusin and Tim Werner likely to fail, while Brennan Johnson and Dominik Solanke were important scorers this season.
However, while the club have several wing-forwards to choose from, they have no real rival for the Englishman, although recent reports suggest that could change.
Tottenham Hotspur transfer news
According to a a recent report by journalist Graeme BaileySpurs are one of several clubs, including Arsenal, who have been contacted by Randal Kolo Muani’s representatives over the past week regarding a potential move.
The French international has fallen out of favor with Paris Saint-Germain and has been told to look for a new club elsewhere, with a move to England reportedly preferred.
The report claims the Parisians would prefer to sell the striker this month but would be willing to accept a loan move, which could be perfect for Spurs, especially if they can agree a deal with an obligation to buy in the summer.
It could be a complicated job to cross the line, but given Kolo Muani’s incredible ability and potential, signing him on a short-term loan for rivals Solanke seems like a no-brainer, even if earning a whopping £202k a week.
Why would Kolo Muani be a big competition for Solanke
Okay, the first thing to say is that if you base your opinion solely on his form this season, you might not think Kolo Munai would be a good matchup for Solanke.
After all, he is exactly French his three goals name in 14 occurrences, at the English 15 in the 25.
However, as we mentioned above, the PSG ace has been given limited minutes this year, and when he has played a significant amount in previous campaigns, he has succeeded.

Let’s say, even last year, the “ice” striker, as the German legend called him Lothar Matthausscored 12 goals and six assists in 44 appearances, which means he scored an average of a goal every 2.44 games.
Moreover, the season before that he was even better, scoring a fantastic goal 23 goals and 17 assists in 46 appearances, which equates to an incredible average of a goal every 1.15.
After all, while the 26-year-old hasn’t been brilliant this season, his underlying numbers have been up over the past 365 days.
According to FBrefwhich compares players in similar positions in the leading five European leagues, the Champions League and the Europa League, the attacking “superstar”, as dubbed by Matthausranks in the top 3% of forwards for successful take-ons, top 7% for progressive passes received, top 10% for expected non-penalty goals and top 11% for assists, all at 90.
Ultimately, while it wouldn’t necessarily be advisable for Spurs to sign Kolo Muani on a permanent deal next month, he is more than good enough to come on a short-term loan and give Solanke some much-needed competition.
