Curtis Jones makes a surprising admission on Mohamed Salah, claiming he is not as good as the former Chelsea winger
Curtis Jones says Eden Hazard was a better player than Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah.
Comparisons are often drawn between Hazard and Salah given their similar, diminutive statures and the general brilliance the pair have brought to the Premier League.
And while Jones grew up watching Hazard and remains a huge fan, he says he would rather have Salah by his side.
The Liverpool man told TNT Sports ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Lille at Anfield: “I know that [Hazard] he gets compared to Mo all the time. I was in it with Moo.
“As a player I was seeing [being] as a child, I loved the game, I studied the game and I wanted to be like the player. I feel like Hazard was the one. Every game I watched I was like wow… that’s football.”
Jones added: “As a footballer is he better than Mo? In my opinion yes. But who would you rather have on your team? You will say Mo because he gives you goals and assists.”
Jones’ ruling caused an uproar on social media, prompting Jones to reiterate his opinion on who he would rather play alongside.
