Immigration hawks urge Congress and Trump administration to ‘start now’ on mass deportation pledge
FIRST ON FOX: Coalition hawk migration groupsahead of President-elect Trump’s inauguration, they are calling on Republicans in Congress and officials in the new Trump administration to follow through on their promises to launch a mass deportation operation – urging them not to back down or compromise on key issues, and to use the upcoming reconciliation process to promises put into action.
“The undersigned organizations and individuals are writing to express and pledge our support in fulfilling the promises you have made to the American people,” the coalition says.
Among those 10 groups are Heritage Action for America, NumbersUSA, the National Immigration Center for Enforcement and the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). In the letter, obtained by Fox News Digital, they warn that the work should begin immediately.
TRUMP ADMINISTRATION PLANNING TO ARREST ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS ACROSS THE US ON ‘DAY ONE’
“Due to the constraints of the congressional calendar, the threat of litigation from fans of open borders, the slow pace of regulatory actions, as well as the complexity of the promised law enforcement operations, work should begin immediately, in earnest,” they say.
“Mass deportations and secure borders are not just cornerstones public safety and national securitybut they are also a key tool for protecting American workers and stopping employers from engaging in unscrupulous activity,” they say. “Most importantly, they are not a bargaining chip for other policies or political priorities.”

Trump has promised to launch a “historic” deportation operation and provide extra security at the borders. Many Republicans in Congress have run on these issues, and polls have shown that many Americans view illegal immigration as a major problem.
The groups note that the House-passed GOP border bill of 2023, which lawmakers have repeatedly pushed to pass, included a series of sweeping measures to secure the border and limit migrants’ ability to seek asylum. But now they say the bill is “a floor, not a ceiling” and are urging the incoming administration and Congress to move forward, first with a funding package through the budget reconciliation process.
“Now, with unified government control and a critical window opening, we are also ready to help you craft a bold reconciliation package that reflects President Trump’s commitment to the American people and the very laws that govern and protect our nation,” they said.
Their recommendations for the reconciliation package include additional funding for “millions of deportations,” closing loopholes in immigration law, cutting funding to nonprofits and “prioritizing the American worker over foreign labor.”
They also warn MPs: “NO amnesty of any kind. (If you have to say it isn’t, it is.)”

“It’s time to bring order to our immigration system and restore fidelity to the rule of law. The American people are waiting,” they say.
Rosemary Jenks, director of law enforcement at the Immigration and Accountability Project, said Congress must “act now to provide the resources, including ICE ERO officers and detention beds, that President Trump needs to carry out the mass deportations necessary to undo the damage done by the Biden administration .”

reports Fox on Friday that the new administration plans to begin mass immigration arrests on the first day.
“What we’re saying to ICE, you’re going to enforce immigration law without apology,” border czar Tom Homan told “Jesse Watters Tonight.” “You’re going to focus on the worst first, the threats to public safety first, but no one is excluded. If they’re in the country illegally, they have a problem.”
