“The president is issuing a historic series of executive orders and actions that will fundamentally reform the American government, including a complete and total restoration of American sovereignty,” the official told Fox News Digital.

On the first day, the president will declare a state of emergency at the national border; direct the US military to work with the Department of Homeland Security to fully secure the southern border; and establish a national priority to eliminate all criminal cartels operating on US soil.

Trump will issue a proclamation closing the border to all illegal aliens and declaring a national emergency at the border, Fox News Digital has learned.

Trump will also create homeland security task forces with officers from the FBI, ICE, CEA and others to “completely eradicate the presence of criminal cartels.”

Trump will also direct the designation of the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, which the official said would unlock new powers to achieve Trump’s homeland security mission.

Fox News Digital has learned that Trump will reintroduce “Stay in Mexico,” “Catch and Release” and direct the military to build a new phase of the border wall, as well as give emergency authorities to suspend the entry of illegal aliens across the Southwest border, allowing individuals arrested to be “quickly returned to their countries of origin”.

The official also said Trump would completely reform the federal bureaucracy by re-establishing presidential control over careers, the federal workforce and making it clear to federal workers that they can be removed from their jobs for disobeying executive directives.

The official said Trump would sign an executive order to strengthen oversight of senior government officials and implement a new merit-based hiring review. Trump will also take steps to put federal workers back to personal work.

New Trump administration officials told Fox News Digital that the overarching theme of his first actions is “promises made, promises kept.”

“As soon as President Trump puts his hand on the Bible and swears to the Constitution of the United States, the Golden Age of America will begin,” White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt told Fox News Digital. “The American people will have a leader who will deliver on the promises he made to restore the greatness of our country.”

The president on Sunday reviewed one of his first day executive orders related to the popular video-sharing app TikTok, which was forced to cease operations in the United States following a US Supreme Court ruling.
